New Delhi, India (May 6, 2026): The Chamber of Railway Industries (Rail Chamber) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Rajesh Prasad, former Director (Operations), Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), as a member of its Advisory Board.
Mr. Prasad is a highly accomplished railway infrastructure professional with a distinguished career spanning decades of leadership in project execution, corporate governance, and strategic transformation. An alumnus of IIT Kanpur (B.Tech and M.Tech in Civil Engineering), he has been widely recognised for his technical excellence, innovation, and impactful contributions to India’s railway infrastructure sector.
During his tenure as Director (Operations), RVNL, Mr. Prasad played a pivotal role in transforming the organisation into a globally competitive infrastructure entity. Under his leadership, RVNL witnessed significant growth, including expansion into international markets with projects such as the Maldives, and a remarkable increase in market capitalisation. He was instrumental in commissioning large-scale railway and metro infrastructure projects, overseeing execution of projects worth tens of thousands of crores, and contributing to RVNL’s elevation to Navratna status.
Mr. Prasad has led numerous high-impact initiatives, including the development of RVNL’s vision and business strategy, strengthening corporate governance frameworks, and driving operational excellence across projects. His contributions extend to public-private partnerships (PPP), SPV management, contract execution, and large-scale infrastructure financing and delivery.
Over the course of his career, he has received multiple accolades, including the Railway Minister’s Award, several Service Medals and Certificates of Merit, and numerous lifetime achievement recognitions from leading industry bodies for his contributions to infrastructure development and project leadership.
A thought leader and technical expert, Mr. Prasad has authored over 25 technical papers and has been actively involved in knowledge dissemination through academic engagements, industry forums, and public discourse on infrastructure and project management.
