Dr. Vinod Shah is a distinguished media strategist, communications leader, and infrastructure industry professional with over two decades of experience spanning corporate communications, media management, business strategy, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, and institutional development. Renowned for building influential knowledge platforms and fostering strategic partnerships, he has successfully worked at the intersection of media, public policy, and infrastructure-led economic growth.

He currently serves as the First Director General of the Chamber of Railway Industries (Rail Chamber)—India's first dedicated, non-governmental apex industry body exclusively representing the railway manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, and supply ecosystem. Established as a Section 8 not-for-profit organisation, the Rail Chamber serves as a unified industry platform committed to strengthening India's railway sector through policy advocacy, research, technical collaboration, industry representation, innovation, and global business engagement. Under his leadership, the Chamber is creating a collaborative ecosystem that connects government institutions, public sector undertakings, global OEMs, private enterprises, startups, MSMEs, academia, and professionals to accelerate the vision of a globally competitive railway industry.

Dr. Shah also serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Urban Infra Group, a leading media and knowledge organisation dedicated to urban infrastructure, railways, mobility, energy, logistics, and smart cities. Since joining the organisation in 2017, he has been instrumental in driving business growth, editorial excellence, strategic communications, global partnerships, industry events, and stakeholder engagement. His leadership has contributed significantly to the development of high-impact conferences, exhibitions, publications, research initiatives, and policy dialogues that bring together government leaders, industry experts, investors, and technology providers from across India and abroad.

Academically accomplished, Dr. Shah holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication, an MBA in Marketing & Industrial Relations, a Master's Degree in Mass Communication & Journalism, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Planning. His multidisciplinary academic background enables him to integrate strategic communication, public policy, business management, market intelligence, and infrastructure planning into practical industry solutions.

Throughout his career, he has accumulated extensive experience across corporate, consulting, and contract-driven environments, with expertise in corporate communications, media relations, contract management, business development, vendor engagement, training and development, international business expansion, and strategic partnerships. His work across the railway, power, energy, mobility, and infrastructure sectors has earned him recognition as a trusted industry voice and an advocate for collaborative growth.
