New Delhi, India (July 1, 2026): The Chamber of Railway Industries (Rail Chamber) is pleased to announce the appointment of Shri Hari Mohan Gupta, former Chairman & Managing Director of IRCON International Limited and former Director (Infrastructure) of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), to its Advisory Board.

A distinguished officer of the Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Shri Gupta brings more than three decades of exceptional leadership and technical expertise in railway infrastructure development, project management, engineering, contract administration, and corporate governance. Throughout his illustrious career, he has successfully led several of India's most prestigious railway infrastructure projects while driving institutional reforms and operational excellence.

As Chairman & Managing Director of IRCON International Limited, Shri Gupta spearheaded the company's strategic vision for sustainable growth by expanding its business portfolio into emerging sectors including high-speed and rapid rail transit systems, highways, tunnel communication systems, hydroelectric projects, Kavach, data centres, and international infrastructure projects. He also introduced key organizational reforms focused on strengthening human resource development, contract management, technological innovation, and operational efficiency to position IRCON as a globally competitive infrastructure company.

Prior to leading IRCON, Shri Gupta served as Director (Infrastructure), DFCCIL, where he played a pivotal role in commissioning approximately 1,404 Route Kilometres (3,173 Track Kilometres) of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, including connectivity to all major ports of Gujarat. He also held additional charge of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor and successfully completed several critical sections while leading major HR and policy reforms across the organization.

As Executive Director (Works), Railway Board, Shri Gupta coordinated railway new line, gauge conversion, and doubling projects worth nearly ₹7 lakh crore, while overseeing project budgeting, fund allocation, project prioritisation, and monitoring at the national level. His contributions significantly enhanced project planning and execution across Indian Railways.

Earlier in his career, Shri Gupta served as Chief Project Manager, DFCCIL (Noida Unit), where he played a defining role in land acquisition, environmental clearances, contract management, and execution of the Rewari–Dadri section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor. His innovative leadership helped secure landmark approvals, including alignment modifications with metro authorities, Aravalli tunnel clearances, and a significant Supreme Court judgment supporting railway infrastructure development.

Throughout his career, Shri Gupta has earned widespread recognition for his contributions to railway engineering and infrastructure development, including the General Manager's Award of Northern Railway, the Managing Director's Appreciation Award of DFCCIL, the Rail Mantri Rajbhasha Rajat Padak, and several commendations for technical excellence and thought leadership.
