1. Profile Overview

Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVC) is a Category-I, Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. Established on 12 July 1999, MRVC is a joint venture between the Ministry of Railways, holding 51% equity, and the Government of Maharashtra, holding 49%. The corporation is primarily responsible for planning and implementing projects under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) to modernize and expand Mumbai’s suburban railway network.

4. Recent Achievements

The corporation has also undertaken projects involving automatic signaling, capacity enhancement, and modernization of suburban railway infrastructure, supported by government funding and multilateral development assistance.
